Sendent started with Outlook. It made sense: Outlook is everywhere, especially in the organizations most likely to care about secure, privacy-respecting email.
But secure file sharing via email is not an Outlook-only problem. Mac teams use Apple Mail. Organizations moving away from Microsoft have switched to Mozilla Thunderbird, the logical home for open-source email. And plenty of teams run more than one client at the same time.
Sendent Mail works for all of them.
What is Sendent Mail?

Sendent Mail is a cross-platform email integration that connects Outlook, Apple Mail, and Thunderbird to Nextcloud.
It puts your secure file-sharing tools directly inside your inbox under a single subscription. Instead of downloading files or switching between apps to share data, your team can send secure Nextcloud links from whichever email client they already use.
Why bring these three clients together?
Email client choice is personal, and it often varies across teams. With Sendent Mail, everyone gets to share files from Nextcloud securely, regardless of which client they use.
In many organizations, you will find Outlook users sitting next to colleagues on Macs who use Apple Mail. Or a team that has standardized on Thunderbird as part of a broader move toward open-source tools. Managing separate solutions for each, or telling half your team they are not supported, is not a workable answer.

There’s also the transition question. Some organizations are moving away from Microsoft 365 and exploring more open and sovereign alternatives. Sendent Mail works throughout that process.
You might start with your whole team on Outlook, then gradually move part of your organization to Thunderbird. Sendent Mail works throughout that process. You don’t have to switch solutions mid-way, and your users don’t have to re-learn anything when they make the move.
The new plan: three clients, one subscription
Alongside the Standard and Plus plans for Outlook, we are introducing a new plan that bundles all three clients together.
This is the right choice for organizations with mixed environments, or for those planning a gradual transition. Rather than paying separately for each integration, you get the full flexibility in one package.
Pricing and plan details will be announced shortly.
What stays the same
Everything you already rely on with Sendent for Outlook is part of Sendent Mail across all three clients:
- Secure file sharing directly from your inbox, powered by your Nextcloud environment
- No file size limits
- Password-protected links with expiration dates
- The ability to withdraw a file after it’s been sent
- Create a Nextcloud Talk Room
- Your data stays on your private Nextcloud server; Sendent never stores it
Capabilities may vary slightly between clients. The core data security from Nextcloud is consistent across all three.
A note on naming
If you have been using Sendent for Outlook, nothing about your current plan changes. Sendent Mail is a new and different plan. Your existing subscription, features, and workflow stay exactly as they are.
